Confessions

Ok so for starters lets be honest this is not so much a fashion post but a time to kick the butt in gear post! Oh how I have fallen off the fitness band wagon and am paying the debt. Maybe I don't look so different (but I do), I feel so different. Holiday junk food plus no workouts equal major physical fail! Ill be honest I am not one that really likes a girl with a muscular look. I think its great that they are in great shape but for me its all about being long and lean. Well as long as my 5'5 bod can possibly get, haha. Ive shared my love for Physique 57 on here before and for those of you that are not familiar with it you must check it out...life changing. While I love it and think its by far the best workout Ive ever done for the results I want, I am onto another quiet similar and a great complimentary workout lately with the lovely Tracy Anderson. Shes tiny, shes gorgeous, shell kick your badonka donk and while she has many worthwhile dvds to order you can get great little tid bits off YouTube. I thought Id share with you a bit of her crazy a&$. You can find many more online and this along with her dance cardio dvd have been just what the butt doctor ordered. So give it a whirl and tell me what you think! Oh and for any of you that have tried her Metamorphosis dvds please tell me if they are worth the purchase!!

So I lied fitness and fashion go hand in hand, you have to feel great to look great...right ladies;)

  2. Did you exercise while pregnant? What did you do? I'm 20 weeks now and have been doing T-Tapp (just the 15 minute workout) since I was 9 weeks. I've felt pretty awful this entire time, BUT the t-tapp did get rid of all my nausea immediately. In fact, I was really worried I was going to have a miscarriage bc I wasn't nauseous at all. Then I read her book and saw that it is a benefit. It also helps drain your lymphatic system, it's helped alleviate the pain of a former pregnancy injury that comes back every time I'm pregnant (I strained or ripped my hip flexors 5 years ago when pregnant and it is so painful), etc. However, I'm not feeling fit. I've put on 25 POUNDS already! It has landed squarely on my rear and thighs. And I know it was a combo of the holidays, being so hungry I was tempted to snatch food from my kids, and being pregnant, but still! Surely I have to start feeling better soon (though today I have food poisoning or something evil), and I want to try something more intense, but not over the top bc I am high risk due to my history. Physique 57 has come out with a prenatal video online for $5 or something that I'm going to try. I mean I really feel the burn with that when I'm not pregnant! I also have one that has Summer Sanders the Olympian in it that I haven't done in a while. It has a different workout per trimester, but I wouldn't call it intense. I just love that high from doing a good workout. Not a killer where you think you might honestly die, but a good cardio/weights video. I loved Jillian Michaels for a while. But that is not for the pregnant and it killed my knees. Blah blah blah, do you have a pregnancy workout you like? Everyone tells me not to worry. It happened like this with my last baby, but I felt horrible the whole time. It always falls off after the baby is born, but I would sure like my old butt and thighs back in the meantime, or something close... Hope you feel better soon.

    1. I just walked a lot and did what I could of my p57 dvds which was basically everything but the abs section. I've heard that tracy andersons pregnancy and post pregnancy dvds are awesome. I love everything about her fitness opinions. She gives that long lean body like p 57. I know what you mean about wanting your old backside back! Seems like everythings spreading everywhere haha! I'm sure you look great:)

  4. Make that $5 every 48 hours for the streaming Physique57 prenatal workout or $57/month! I'd rather just buy a DVD! I'll try it just to see what the modifications are.

  5. So the food poisoning is over, and I did the workout this morning. I haven't done P57 in 4 months (basically since I got pregnant bc I've felt horrible, but I'm finally feeling human again). IT BURNS. And it is completely appropriate for a pregnant woman. I slightly modified a couple of the abs things, but other than that, there was nothing that concerned me. I have it for 48 hours which means I can do it a total of 3 times if I get up early on the morning that the 48 hours expires. I have no doubt that I can trim a few inches off my thighs and bum by tightening up the muscles at the very least. They need it! I took all my measurements this morning so I can see how it changes from week to week.

I also like that the instructor (Alicia from the first set of videos) and both of the students are actually pregnant. She is in her second trimester and the others are in their third. It is challenging the way a P57 workout should be, I just really, really wish it was on DVD bc I think it will be a good transition after my c-section as well. But paying for it per use is going to add up fast. You could buy all the DVDs for the cost of using these for a short time. Unless it comes out on DVD, I will probably try this a few times and then go back to the express workouts and modify on my own.

And as soon as the weather gets out of the single digits around here, I will get out and walk. The kids would love to ride circles around me while I hustle, but it is just too cold right now.
