1| Jcrew Tippi sweater
2| Forever 21 Ragland sweater
For your New Years Eve holiday shopping needs, I bring you my latest favorite look for less. I recently ordered this Forever 21 sweater after lusting after a few different similar ones from JCrew (some of which are now sold out). The color is much closer in person. If you ask me its a pretty darn good steal and I am really pleased with the fit. Outfit post coming soon!
Have a safe and happy New Years Eve!!

Let's talk J. Crew sweaters for a moment. I got one for Christmas. Love the bright orange color (I think they call it New Red or something). Love the boatneck that isn't so wide it shows my bra strap. Love the length and fit. But it ITCHES. I mean I get a rash just looking at it. I haven't tried it on with a long sleeve tee under it (I happen to have one with a wide neckline), but you would almost need a titanium shell to protect you. What is wrong with them? How can they justify those prices when it itches so badly? I'm so disappointed. I don't want to send it back bc I love everything else about it. I want it to magically stop being like steel wool on my skin. Is that so much to ask? I got a few cardis from there too, and they are fine, but I'm very hesitant to order another sweater from there again. I expected better.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wear ANYTHING with the slightest touch of wool in it or even some of the acrylic fabrics for that matter. I literally start to sweat and freak out, basically go insane! I've always wondered how people buy itchy sweaters or tops and say they are cozy and warm. I truly love everything from jcrew and think their clothes are well made but I too have to be selective with wintery fabrics. Turtlenecks are really popular right now so I would layer it with one because a thin blouse won't cut it. For me as long as none of the sweater is touching my skin I can somewhat handle it. Oh and I have a skirt from there in that color..love it:)
DeleteI've worn it around the house today with the tee under it and it has been ok (turtlenecks make me feel claustrophobic). It is already getting fuzzier and pills between the arms and side seams. There must be acrylic in it. I hate acrylic, and yet I am tempted to keep it bc I love the color and cut...there are worse problems to have.
DeleteIf its the sweater I'm thinking of I'd wear it with a denim shirt under. Throw on a chunky necklace, and half tuck the denim into a cute black pencil skirt, throw on some heels and its cute for church too!
DeleteOh that sounds cute! And it's a better itch barrier. Just as soon as I'm not pregnant and can button up my denim shirt and fit into my black pencil skirt again :) So next winter. I'm only half way through, so I can still wear the sweater for a little longer, just not the shirt. Or any button up shirt. Next year, next year.
DeleteFabulous finds!
